I actually walked in for my bio...9/12 here! But my appointment was supposed to be 9/19 so if Vermont is going by originally scheduled dates, then we should hopefully hear something soon!

Don't worry, I've been there. I had to rescind this big time offer while I was in college. I was literally one of two people who got it out of my whole entire class... And I couldn't work. I had an EAD, but it had just expired. There was nothing I could do.

I cried buckets, yo. Buckets. To this day, I can't look at the company name without cringing . I got so depressed afterwards, especially since it was senior year. Be as emo as you want, but know that you'll be able to move on from it.

back in 2006 when my last EAD expired, i used to work at a hotel and I was about to be transfered to a position where i would make between 6k-8k in tips per month. People could not comprehend why i was resigning, I said i was going to study full time just cause i didnt wanna say i had just received a deportation order and was now undocumented :'( ...that was also the last year I attended classed too, heard from some people that had ice show up at their school. I cant wait to work even for minimum wage but most importantly get back to school!!!

I'm sorry to hear that bro. This situation is just so goddamned frustrating. At times I feel like I shouldn't have even applied but (and this is about to sound so terrible lol) when I saw that job description...it was made for me. I just...I don't know, I wanted to try my luck, all the while thinking 'I haven't been in the industry for 2 years, I'm listing some shitty job as my last place of employment, these people are going to laugh at my application...' and then they called, did a phone interview, did the panel interview...urgh. I passed the background check, got references done, salary was negotiated, benefits were worked out, it was all DONE. Fuck Vermont. I've been here since I was in freakin' Pampers, I'm an open and shut case, college grad, paid my damn taxes every year I have worked. Now these people think I was just screwing them around, when it was SO not the case. I feel like I wasted their time, but really I had too much faith that this would be resolved by now, especially after the first approvals. =/. Ah, naive little Hopefuldreamer.

Two years, when I was finishing up my internship at one of the most prestigious hotels in South Florida, I was offered a catering manager position as my internship was in sales and catering. 55k, benefits, blah blah blah. Straight out of college, at the tender age of 21. No one understood it either when I said I wanted to 'take my career in a different direction'. Psh. I know that feel, bro.
