Awww.... so proud of you. I am an RN too working in an acute rehab unit. What hospital are you working at? I used to work in a SNF but I only stayed for 6 months.

So nice to meet a fellow RN dreamer.

quick question. All I need is my EAD card and social for applying at temp agencies right? I did apply for ID and DL but waiting for ID to get here and waiting longer to take driving test. Will employers ask for an ID other than the EAD card? I am going to apply mostly at temp agencies but may apply at some other places. EAD card and Social enough or should I just wait for ID to get here to be safe?

That's all I showed for I-9 form was EAD when I applied to temp agency. I remember for background check form I put my DL number - but I'm sure it can be run without it if you don't have one.

After many months of applying to countless jobs only receiving 2 in person interviews, I have an offer! Starting Monday with my first 'real' job in my field of study!

Unless you are going to apply for any driving position, you should be fine.

Remember that during an interview, you can be asked whether you are legally allowed to work in the US. What they cannot ask you to do is ask whether you are a USC or not, since that could cause someone to discriminate you.

Also, the I-9 form is the 'Employment Eligibility Form', requires you to show certain documents, which you choose from a table that should be provided when you fill the form. Your employer cannot tell you which documents to provide in order for them to verify that it is you, but you have to make sure to fill out everything.

Hope it helps.

I'm having so many difficulties with my job search. Anyone older (26+) who is having trouble trying to get a job? I'm working part time now and make money, but this was a gig that I had before DACA and I've been trying to get out of it.

I'm too "old" for entry level since I'm 5 years out of college, too limited in my experiences since I've been undocumented.

Hey kabs! As an older dreamer with no experience, I was facing the same problem. I know hearing just keep looking, eventually you will find something, will not make you feel better. I hated when someone said that to me because I was sending out ~20 resumes a week for over three months with no calls even for a phone screening. And out of nowhere, a job I had an interview with six weeks ago offered me the position. I haven't been out of school as long as you, slightly over a year, so our positions aren't identical. What was your degree in? It is still a tough job market out there for everyone.
