But i do think its a bad idea nonetheless. Who knows who has it, one infected person there can infect 10, and then the small amount of cases can double.
I think what he means is that the last thing we need is the swine flu to be associated with immigrants on a large scale. If the majority of the people that go to these rallies gets infected and then starts showing at numerous hospitals, what kind of pattern do you think is going to show up here? The idiots in the media will have a field day.

In the media these days, a Mexican who caught the swine flu in the US = a Mexican who brought the swine flu from Mexico. When your typical American ends up hearing these things : immigrants, Mexico, swine flu epidemic, what do you think he is going to think.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. I don't think it even needs to be a majority of people getting sick -- you get just a few people, right now, and they end up at the hospital ? Even if you just have the virus showing up in your town right after a big march --- you will just get all of the haters pointing fingers and screaming.... I think it is political suicide.

i heard on some cowboy radio that illegal immigrants have made a deal with Osama Bin Laden to invent a disease and spread it to the U.S. they called it a biological terror attack.

the host of the radio station kept getting calls from listeners. they were like "sir we are proud to have an American like you, an American that says the truth, An American that realizes that these illegals are no better than the terrorists"

i was

i think that they should pass a law to deport every idiot in this country...

Swine flu impacted the turnout at a rally in Chicago.

Here's the video:

What a bunch of cowards we got here,

the swine flu has not killed a single person in the United States.

It is entirely a media blow-up.

Don't use the "swine flu" as an excuse for not going out to march for immigrant rights.

Even Pres. Obama got on t.v. and told people to not let it scare them. Be proactive, and just be careful.

When I saw the amount of people that showed up to that one rally in Chicago, I was hoping that it was just a fluke. But, I haven't seen any other news on the other marches around the country so I really can't say if it affected the turn out everywhere.

DreamAct on Twitter posted a couple of pictures to a march in Madison Square: http://twitpic.com/4cp0r

so what are you doing here typing on internet forum instead of out there marching?

and actually, the H1N1 flu did kill one person. a mexican baby who came from mexico to texas few days back.

and although i do agree that the swine flu thing is totally overblown and overhyped by the media, i still wouldnt go out and march next to people who are most likely to have traveled to and from mexico within past few weeks.

this swine flu isnt even as potent as your regular flu...it's just that we dont got vaccines for it since its a new strain. but that should change soon.

please bro, lets face it the majority of these people are undocumented or broke, they are not going on any type of trips to Mexico unless it's a one way ticket on the deportation bus.

but im sure they come in contact with people who have...families, friends, etc.

and actually the majority of people you speak of are documented marching for their families and friends. many undocumente shy away from these marches in fear of getting caught. based on last year's turnout.
