(6) was under age 35 on the date of this Act's enactment. <======then you should be fine

Lol, yea. You scared me for a moment there.

The latest version of the bill introduced on March 26, 2009, has the following requirements:

Have arrived here at the age of 15 or under; (note the change from 16 to 15, age is the same as previously but it is stated in different wording)
Have lived in the U.S. for at least 5 years;
Graduate from high school;
Serve in the military or attend college for at least two years; and
Have good moral character

Well the latest revision does not even have a age limit.

Um, there's only 300 million people living in America, so yeah... I think you mean 12 million.

It doesn't matter if the student has already graduated. As long as they meet all of the requirements, they're fine. The DREAM Act bill is a separate bill, but it has always been included in Comprehensive Immigration Reform when it has come up. So, there's 3 options: it can be included in CIR, come up as a stand alone, or be included in another bill (like an education bill).

Hope that helps.

So Dream Act is useless unless the CIR passes!

What are the chances of stand alone?

additionally, nobody can definitely tell you when it will pass, when it will be brought up, or in what form (part of CIR, standalone, or attachment). it's kinda one of those "wait and see" kind of situation. only that in our case, we can't just sit back and twiddle our thumbs. we can make a difference by making sure we're not forgotten. check out the "taking action" section of dap to see how you can help.
If CIR does not pass, then what good is DREAM Act unless it runs as a stand alone bill.

I don't understand what you're saying. All bills (not just DREAM) go through the same process. They must come up as a stand alone or included in something else.

If it weren't for the DREAM Act, we would have to wait for CIR to pass. And if CIR fails, we wouldn't get another shot at legalization until it is introduced again. With the DREAM Act, if CIR does not get introduced, we still have the opportunity to have DREAM come up by itself or as part of another bill.

And I agree with dreamerhippie, we can't just sit around and wait for DREAM to be voted on because it never will unless we do something about it.

That makes sense. More hopes.
