I think is ridiculous that so-called Cuban Americans can pledge allegiance to a country other than the United States.

Most (again most, not all) of their parents or ancestors left Cuba, not because of political activism or censorship, but because they would not stay in an impoverished country. If any Muslim American or Mexican American, or any other fill-in-the-blank American were actively pursuing legislation to benefit another nation and publicly professed allegiance to it, uproar would ensue. Hypocrites.

Many of them have disdain for other Latin Americans, especially Mexicans, frequently saying that they should stay and work to improve conditions in their countries of origins. That is, according to them, all except them. Riiiiiiight. They should called out in public for it. Your allegiance should be to this country and not Cuba. Otherwise, take your own advice, and go back and work to overthrow Castro's goverment.

You know, I'm fed with Cubans. I hate Miami because of them.
Yeah...you gotta feel sorry because Cuba is under a dictatorship, etc...etc...but once they get to the US they're given EVERYTHING, and the last thing they want to do is work. They're the laziest culture I've seen since I moved to the US.
I wish you could listen to the radio here and see yourself how ignorant these people are.
You can easily see that they don't give a crap about other immigrants, but the saddest thing is that they don't give a crap about America.

I went to Miami a couple times, years ago, on Spring break. NO ONE SPOKE ENGLISH.!!!!!
Residents in California complain about bilingualism, but don't know how good they have it compared to Florida. Besides, Florida is a shit state with poor economy, flagrant racism, and infested with crime and corruption. They can keep it. I lived all my life in Seattle and am beyond grateful for it. Best decision my parents ever made was bring us to WA state, instead of other parts in the US. Aaaand I can't BEAR to listen to them 'speak' Spanish. They have the most horrible version of it; poorly enunciated and skipping sounds. Uuuuggghhhh. Again maybe this is petty and insignificant, but I've let the cat out of the bag. And is true; many of them are unintellible when they speak to you. I went to purchase some souvenirs during one of my trips there, and when the cashier finished tallying my items, I had to ask her to repeat what she said 3 times, and in the end still couldn't understand her. I just looked at the register and gave her a bill to cover the amount without replying. And I am mexican/spanish and speak perfectly the language, so I know what I am saying.

They are a natural fit for the Republican party due to their prejudice and corruption. They hold no sway in other parts of the nation anyway, and I can tell you from a first row view that no one in the NW gives a crap about Cuba. Sorry.

Aaaaaand that's one of the reasons why I hate Miami xD
I just had to be there the beginning of this month for my sister's court, and UGH, it's the same thing as always. It's hard to find someone who speaks English. And it's even harder for me, cuz even though I am very familiar with the Spanish language & can understand most of it, it's far from my primary OR secondary language. I don't even like Spanish that much to begin with, so it only makes it worse when they try to speak to me all fast & full of slangs and words I don't understand...
The freakin lady that was supposed to bring me some stuff at the hotel didn't understand a single word I said in English... but instead of staying & trying to figure out what I needed, she just acted all annoyed and left. I was like, WTH??? You're in AMERICA, you BITCH, YOU need to speak English, I don't need to know Spanish!!! D<

Ugh, I never liked Miami. It has that Latin American feel to it that reminds me a lot of certain unpleasant parts of my childhood. Tall crowded buildings, very little nature or even just grass, and how dirty the city is... and how crude the people in it seem to be.

Now, I've lived in Florida for my entire teenage years and am still here, so I gotta defend the state in some points. It's true that Miami and the surrounding areas are like that, and, well, basically, the farther down FL you go, the worse things get. (God knows, Boca is almost the same way... just filled with Brazilians instead...) But not the entire state is that way.
Orlando's even got some of those bad characteristics, but they lean more towards the whole "big city" type of thing - a lot of people, heavy traffic, filled with businesses, etc. The city is much prettier not half as crowded or dirty as Miami. You actually get to see lots of trees, grass, open areas, nice views, etc. Tampa is even more, Tampa's pretty. And you find a much greater amount of actual Americans in those places, and the Spanish community actually speaks English. That's what I like about my city.
Man, I miss Orlando. :<

Well, the one thing I will always blame Cubans for is George Bush.

Had they not been played for fools with the whole Elian Gonzales debacle, we would've had president Al Gore. Instead we got stuck with Stupid.
