Yeah i was going to move to New Mexico I went and checked it out, but after thinking stuff I think Home is a better for me

That really sucks dude. I'm also thinking of doing the same after I graduate next year. I wish you and your family the best of luck man. Don't worry. Mexico isn't as bad as the media displays it. What part of Mexico are you going to? Sorry for all the questions but I'd like for someone to tell me how things are over there to help me make my final decision.

Although it is unfortunate for everyone that Jefe did not express himself in a nice way.

The sentiment is that those leaving are declaring defeat and letting the anti-immigrant crowd win. In general, those that leave are hurting the immigration movement. More specifically, when potential Dream Act beneficiaries leave, they are hurting the Dream Act movement.

Where in Mexico will you be moving to?

Good luck and hopefully you can tell us how it is after you've settled in.

You know what, we could sit and wait our entire lives for something to happen, or we can take charge and move on with our lives. I choose the latter. I'm not going to be here forever, waiting as these politicians play with my life. If nothing happens by June of next year, I'm outta here. We have to decide what's best for ourselves.

Choosing to leave this situation in search for a better life is not declaring defeat. We were all put into situations out of our control and decision making and have had to seize the reins. For many of us, going back to our native country isn't a choice. And for some of us, waiting until we are blue in the face is not much of a choice either. I've been waiting since 2002; I have myself and my family to watch out for. My emotional, mental, and physical health have all taken a big hit from this situation, and my decision to do what is best for me is that. At the same time, I have put my story out there to my former classmates and peers and have asked them to sign petitions and such. I can do both and me choosing to work legally and have political rights does not hurt the movement.

I don't consider it defeat at all. I actually think it's brave of him to go into "the unknown"--a home he probably doesn't even remember. I was going to leave this summer too, but I chickened out and decided to wait another year.
Oh and maybe you can tell us how you're doing after you get settled in.

I sometimes think the same since I live in Arizona. I can't get a job, or drive, because since I'm young looking and a male, there are more chance that I'll get pulled over just because of those two things. I don't date because I don't have a job or drive, and well, scholarships are really hard to get. I'm seriously surprised how my parents still scored new jobs after e-verify passed--but the thought that they can lose it any is also horrifying. Now, we're moving to another state in a couple of weeks. I'm sort of excited to make this move, maybe we'll have better luck there--but still, seeing how many people our age are experiencing and living up their youth sometimes makes me feel bitter because that is something we will never get to fully experience and just like FrankoKid, I think and plan about moving back home to feel and live my youth like any other guy my age. Get a job somewhere nicer in terms of where I would live, have a license, etc. But then I also think about if I was to finish a career and received an opportunity to work here in the US, would I even be able to apply for a work visa, since I entered the US illegally? You know, they're going to know when I re-validate my High School degree and all that. BUT i'm not on that point yet where my only option is Mexico, and I seriously wish you the best and in a way I wish I could have the balls to go back and live in a friendlier country.
Keep us in touch. I've always wondered how DREAMer who go back to their original home countries do, since we never really hear back from them.
