everything dealing with immigration that we thought we knew from past patterns, well... that has been disrupted by terrorism and the 9/11 attacks, we can't even use that kind of information anymore, everything that happens now is new because the circumstances are just that different.
Do you think CIR/DREAM would have passed a while back if 911 never happened?

It could become reality in a matter of weeks. This is our best chance right now.

I could adjust status here if I were married but in my case, my relationship with any guy I've dated has never been a good one, that's why I decided not to waste my time being emotionally involved with a guy that way it makes it much easier for me to walk away from the relationship. Marrying a USC is definitely out of the question for me. If I end up deciding to leave the US, I really don't think I'd want a petition filed for me to return here to be honest. 10 years is a long time, you can develop strong roots in your new place of residence and may not feel like uprooting yourself from there to return here...
Yea, relationships always ends up adding more stress to my life so I choose to do without them. Graduating from college and sitting around for several years twiddling your thumbs is a serious mental mind-fuck. I've grown so emotionally numb that I just don't even care who I leave behind and who I won't be seeing for the next 10 years or for the rest of my life. I just need to move on.

Also, It's true that I may end up developing strong roots where ever I move, but I still want to be petitioned for just so I can at least return to the US to visit. I know I say that I'm "numb" now, but eventually I will want to come back to visit some old friends, attend reunions, go to weddings, etc, and it's highly unlikely that I would be eligible for any temporary visitor visas given my previous overstay.

You are coming to a forum filled with dreamers that are undocumented hoping to find someone with a legal close relative. While it is possible, and there are some of us here that have such siblings, we are a very small minority, I think.

I don't really need to think about this because the Dream Act will pass in this next few weeks!

Do you think it will pass in both House/Senate before the year ends?

That has got to be the best Xmas present!
