I'm probably going to get torn up from 90% of the board members for this statement, but I would have already left the country by the age of 30 rather than living with my mother as an older adult. In addition, is it not equally selfish to wish that the DREAM Act would fail simply because you no longer qualify?

Please hate me.

So even though they may show anger and frustration, we should not shun them or pass judgement on them, for we don't know what a painful thing it must be. what i'm basically trying to say is "i'm sorry" if I had posted negative feedback to these guys.
No one is shunning them, they can speak their mind on whatever issue they want.

I agree we shouldn't bash the older folks..... but thank them and tell them we will help them someway or another. We have to do for them what they did for us...

Plus... i really don't think "it" will happen anyways. at the rate their going another 10 yrs might pass and no dream.

The reason why I am disrespectful to him is that he wants the dream act to FAIL (just read some of his post).

I get it, it is very sad that the 30- 34 age group disqualify, but what else can we do? I mean if the DA fails this year, no doubt that the age cap will go lower and more people will disqualify.

All I can say for the 30+ dreamers; helps us to pass the DA and wait for the CIR in 10 years or move out this country (not to be disrespectful, but I just want you guys to live/enjoy your life)
First of all, you can keep your patronizing comments to yourself. "You can wait 10 years or move out of this country" - This shows that you are immature and don't know anything about life. The individuals in the 30-34 group have been working and supporting themselves and their families; as well as paying taxes during the last decade. So they should give up their hope and fight just because a selfish brat like you who's been reaping taxpayer benefits and probably living under the parents' roof says so? Keep dreaming. If DA doesn't pass, take your own advice and good luck to you.

Just wondering, what will 30+ year old DREAMers do if they were qualified for the DREAM Act?

As you had stated, they are already here and need to support their family. That crosses out education. It must be difficult to finish the education requirement, let alone get a bachelors if they need to support their family and pay for education (I'm assuming 30+ DREAMers most likely have children as well). This only leaves the military option as a viable choice; you make money, but not a feasible amount. I say this because a 2 year degree is not competitive at all nowadays. Call me crazy, but even a bachelors holds no competition when most people are obtaining masters degrees. So even if they did successfully finish a 2 year degree simply to fulfill the DREAM Act requirement, it would not get them a cutting edge career either way. So wouldn't it have been better to have left before hitting 30 and starting the path to education rather than waiting and waiting? Some of us are fortunate to obtain university level education even as undocumented students, but I don't think I'd have the willpower to start schooling at an age 30 years or older.

Maybe I'm wrong, so someone enlighten me because I don't have any friends who have associates degrees.

What does her being female have anything to do with opinions? Her opinion isn't anymore negative than yours, by the way.

I don't visit this forum anymore as the influx of new members has turned it upside down, but the title of this thread is equally negative.
