Let's all have 5 kids each and make them all vote Democrats 18 years later. 700K x 5 = 3.5 Million votes for Democrats.

Let's still be grateful for the work of those who keep working to move the bill foward: Reid, Durbin, etc.

I just can't stop thinking of despite how much we call, pressure them, tell them our stories, these politicians can not find their own hearts to give us an opportunity to finally be legal in our country, because the US is our country. I'm so disheartened right now. I just can't comprehend how they are able to sleep at night denying honest, hard-working people a chance to provide something great for this country. We are just pest to them. And, we are not, we are people, we are American just not by birth-right.

I cannot comprehend it either, Happygolucky. I am not one for optimism but there is a shred of hope we can still hang onto. Harry Reid said he would bring the DREAM vote up again for cloture this coming week if it failed today. Four senators abstained today (55+41=96) so maybe he can get their vote plus one more. If that fails, there is still S.3827 as an amendment to the DOD bill. That is one more hand for Harry to play if the DOD bill comes up for a vote before January 5.

My deepest empathy. As I told my senators, “It’s SAD that the DREAM Act has been diluted into essentially a guest worker program with a long path to LPR status. The DREAM Act as previously written (S. S.729) was unfair enough since these young Americans never violated any immigrations laws intentionally. They should have been granted citizenship five years after they were attending school here in the US. That said, they are grateful to receive any morsels of justice which are extended to them. It is in this spirit that I ask you to vote for the DREAM Act in the coming week. Thank you for your support.”.

Keep moving, we are resilient individuals, a characteristic I know we all share. Heads up will get it soon enough.

Shit happens you guys. The majority of you knew already that it wasn't going to pass, now all we can do is move on and try not to kill ourselves.

If you're in a serious relationship that will lead to marriage OR are already married, just go ahead and file your paperwork. No need waiting on this DA Bill anymore, people just won't change their minds and help us.

I've been married 6 yrs to an illegal (in US since age 5) and we have 2 kids now (his mom is even a US citizen now, me and our kids too). I have been to numerous lawyers and none of them can do anything for us and all advised us not to go to MX to file either. The last one we spoke to said that unless the Dream Act passes we are pretty much SOL.

This is frustrating as I have no clue what to do anymore and its not as easy as one would think even with being married.
