How about we be respectful of one another's individual beliefs and use every possible tool at our disposal in order to further our common cause.

Lemme preface this rant by saying that despite being mostly agnostic, I still pray sometimes. Praying for me is a reflex action, it's culturally ingrained, and as BimmerFan said, it can be empowering and comforting. I just don't understand why it's even necessary to post religious threads on a secular board that's dedicated to a secular piece of legislation.

This thread just doesn't belong in this subforum. Take it to Other Topics. It doesn't offer any helpful information to other DREAMers, it's just spiritual onanism made public. I get it, you're like, all prayerful and religious and shit. I don't care. Worship whoever you want to worship in whatever way you want, but don't make a public spectacle of your faith. That's just tacky.

Ia ia Cthulhu fhtagn! Amen.

No public spectacle is encouraging, and God is happy when we do this... What Jesus was sayin about being hypocritical was simply doin public spectacle just to impress people .. but when it comes from the heart it is always encouraging

1 pair of working hands accomplishes more than 1,000,000,000 clasped in prayer.

Why would god, if he exist..answer our prayers while letting millions of children starve in Africa?

I agree!! The OP just wanted to pray and have optimism. Then people come crashing in, disrespecting his beliefs. Everyone has their beliefs, from having one God, to 2 Gods and even no God. If you have nothing positive to say, then dont open up your big hole!

If you believe in Jesus, Buddha, Guadalupe, science or whatever; everyone is encouraged to pray and meditate to who every they believe. Dont become a hater, people are happy believing in whatever they believe, and you should be happy for them!

This is a public forum is it not? Since the O.P. posted this in a public forum then this thread is open to all replies, even if it's criticism of whatever fairy tales the O.P believes.
