For instance my family was on a overstayed visa for nearly ten years but no one ever came up to them and told them to leave or even noticed them. Just wondering.
In order to get a VISA they pretty much ask for your life's story. Came in legally and never returned your I-94? You either overstayed or failed to return it. Are you studying? Working? Where do your parents live? Are you married? They will make personal phone calls to friends and relatives to prove that what you are saying is true. If they suspect that you are poor and that you are planning on staying here you are not getting in anyway.
