Years ago illegal immigrants who were mostly from Mexico didn't bring wives and children and the US had bascially a catch and release policy, meaning when a illegal immigrant was caught, they went to court and was given a order to come to court for trial at a later date. Oddly enough most never showed up to court and generally left town. Gee, wonder why?
Now that is no longer the case and now more likely then not any illegal immigrant will be detain and held and most likely deported to their home country.
I think that is a major difference between Nazi Germany which committed genocide of the Jews and mass murder in general and the US and state governments trying to end illegal immigration by ending anything that entices them in the first place and deporting them to their home country.

6 million Jews were killed by Nazi Germany, I don't see 6 million illegal immigrants being killed by the US or state governments.
What???? One would hope in the 21st century; extermination of another human group would never, ever, even cross anyone's mind; much less that of a legislator. One would hope...

The references to the Nazi regime are legitimate because the tactics proposed by Republicans will be used and enacted to exclude, intimidate, and ultimately remove the unwanted population.

First, you deny access. Then you restrict movement. Laws are then enacted to prevent challenges to lack of access and restriction of movement. See? Just like the Gestapo. The extermination of Jews in Europe didn't begin with killing; it began with restriction and exclusion in their communities over a period of YEARS until it culminated with extermination. And it is known to everyone, but the dimmest, that the fact that they were "citizens" meant shit. They weren't targeted because of citizenship.

It was their condition as "Jews"; their origin, ethnicity, and religion that made them unwanted by the Nazi regime. These Alabama legislators want to call them "laws" so that any uneasiness and apprehension about enforcing them that regular citizens might have, can be brushed aside by the concept of legality.

They are taking a leaf out of Obama's book. By now, it should be clear to everyone - with the healthcare debate and all- how difficult it is to remove or reverse a law.
It is very unlikely that Republicans will be able to eliminate the healthcare mandate. Instead they have to go on the defensive, and try to defund it, delay it, etc.
There's only a brief window of opportunity to eliminate these before the mechanisms are in place for them to be used. Once the wheel gets rolling and people have been hired, money has been allocated, processes are in place; it becomes very difficult to make new laws because they require new lawmakers.

And this is how the Obama administration is trying to con immigration reform parties: New laws require new lawmakers in Congress, an so we are supposed to remain in permanent limbo until the next election. There will always be a "next election".

In the meantime, the Reps are going batshit crazy at full speed to create as many anti-immigration laws as TIME will permit them, and force the administration and the Democrats that do care about immigrants, to spend energy, money and their legislative TIME trying to stop them, instead of writing their own legislation.

Not surprising that these states that are filing all these immigration laws are the same ones that tried to succeed from the US over slavery rights before the civil war????
