I have a license from New Mexico, and I literally moved there for four months. All did not go well in my first appointment, therefore I had to wait 2 and 1/2 month for the next one.

However, I hear it is much easier in Washington, because there is no appointment required. Nevertheless, I don't believe you will exercise this option. If I remember correctly, you mentioned you are saving money for lawyer fees, hence I doubt you will spend money to go to Washington.

Anyways, don't treat the symptoms, but cure the disease! Marry your fiance, and get your GC. That's the root of all the problems.

Washington, and it won't take you four months. With help you can be in and out in a few days.

If you have your application paperwork straight you can get it done without living there, let alone for months. There are tons of people that will all say the same. You just need proof of residence, which is relatively easy.

If the SSN is a problem either make a second trip for the interview or get an ITIN number. They only use it to check for delinquent child support.
