Anyways, I was thinking the same thing, but I don't want to leave my family behind. On the other hand, I feel as if I need this in order to grow up and experience adulthood and freedom. It's because I don't want to miss my little brother's and sister's teenage years. My sister is now in high school and my little brother will be in middle school next year. I want to be able to be there if they ever need anything since I know what to expect out of those tough times. Or should I put myself first, go to Mexico, and start my life? Do I need this? (meaning going to Mexico?)
Well if you go now, you could experience a bit of the country and then come back legally later on. Unless you came on a visa and plan on getting married soon. But I have a friend who has a US visa and is actually in Spain right now, she is a teacher here but she took some time off because her Mom died. So despite what you might think, they do give out visas.

Ugh dude you have no idea how much help you're giving me by just posting stuff about your experiences in Mexico. But anyways, yeah I think you're right. I probably will just do that. But what if I'm not approved to get a visa? Do you think having lived here my whole life would actually help in obtaining a visa or would it hurt my chances?

Um...I don't know what to call you. Mr or just dude lol How old are you?

I was told by a relative that they wouldn't give her a visa since her husband was a legal resident, they wanted her husband to get her her papers (this was in the 80's). The reason she told me this was because I was telling her about my plans to go back and start working over there and possibly get a visa to come visit my family once in a while. Then I read a couple weeks back that US Consulates are being really lenient to folks trying to get their visas in Mexico, even those who have 10 year bans!

So I plan on talking to several people in these coming months to get the story straight. It's a big move and it's something you can't take lightly.

Really? Well I'd really appreciate it if you told me the whole story as well. I'm like 90% convinced that I'm going to go. Trust me, I know I shouldn't take this lightly. I've been pondering this decision since my junior year in high school. Now I'm in college and well nothing's changed so I'm willing to take my chances over there. Plus it shouldn't be that bad. CB124 sounds like he or she is having no troubles whatsoever, except for the whole music thing. lol

If I do end up going, I hope I get to meet some of you over there

Yeah I was kind of off put by what I heard from her since all my immediate family is legal would it play out the same. Even though things have changed since the 80's. I'm planning on going back as soon as I get enough funds to live off for a while. So I too need to get the information as correct as possible from both consulates. Whatever I find out I'll make sure to inform the rest of the Dreamers.

Alright thanks dude. You're not just helping people that are going back to Mexico, but everyone wishing to return to their native countries.
