In Illinois almost 140,000 doors where knocked on, and an election was won by a mere 30,000 votes.

We cannot say that had an effect, but we can certainly say that a politician took a risk by siding with us when no one else would and he won, and while we cannot vote, we can inform others and encourage others to vote.

There are now many who are organizing citizenship workshops to help those that are Permanent Residents follow through with the process of becoming citizens, and have the voice we don't have in an election.

Politicians will always be politicians. Voting will only make 1 man richer than the other. That's the sad truth in today's world. Though I would much prefer a President who would do NOTHING ( like Obama ) than murder and/or deport us all (Cain, Bachmann, Palin )

We will always be used as tools to gather votes or just be blamed for the world's illness.
Those Democratic Senators were all in Red States looking at losing their jobs. Can't really blame them. Joe Manchin ran on being an anti-Obama democrat

Those are the people who have been saying they support the DREAM Act, but when it comes to a vote said nay.

the other four on my list where
1- LeMieux who acted as he would be a potential yes after the dreamers made national headlines with a sign on the beach asking him to support the DREAM Act,

2- Senator Hatch, who co-wrote the DREAM Act, and then walked away from it.

3- Senator McCain who was a supporter of the DREAM Act at the beggining and a co-sponsor and then became one of the leading politicians against the DREAM Act.

4- Senator Snowe (debatable). There was nothing officially mentioned about her, but there was a dreamer who had been on this forum for a while who claimed she personally talked to her and she mentioned she would support the DREAM Act, it was a nay from her.

five senators, five supporters, some who campaigned as supporters of the bill but then voted no.

when I said I will never forget, I meant it.
As far as McCain goes, how could you blame him. He did nothing but sell his soul for immigrants rights for years, and it got him a mere fraction of the latino vote when he ran against Obama. So now I believe that he figured he was gaining nothing for sticking his head out for all of us, so he turned to the dark side.

See, the ironic side of this is that had he stayed and not switched over, this discussion of who would be the most likely republican candidate for presidency would probably be very different. But right now the choices that are left are a president which we are told we should trust because he openly says he supports the DA and CIR, and enacts an executive order he does not even care to enforce, and republican candidates who for the most part seem to be anti-immigrant or they are so new people cannot see any experience (and Governor Scott is a primary example of someone with no experience and quickly became one of the worst if not the worst Governor in the US with everyone talking about how he is screwing up Florida), or they are just not buying their BS anymore, or they are just way too extreme on some issues.
