That depends if when you first told her that you are illegal you asked to keep it as a secret. To many Americans this isnt a big deal and they might not even know that it would hurt/ make you feel bad if they did tell anyone.

I told my bf that im illegal before i started dating him, i didnt hide it from him, and some of his friends know that now too. And its not a big deal. Come on the person wont call ICE to tell them on you ;p

And who knows maybe she will think about it and marry you after all ;D

Nothing is ever a secret. Just be who you are and show everyone that you are more than just your status. This is more of an issue for you than her. She probably wasn't even thinking about it when she said it. But if it seems like she keeps throwing it in your face or makes it the main thing about you....then she isn't worth it.

No, we don't. But please keep this useless hostility rolling, it's bound to make this space and our situation that much better.

i personally don't like it so that's why i only tell people that i really trust.
i have gotten butt hurt by one of my friends who just let it slip in front of all these people, and when i confronted her about it later she couldn't even remember that she did. *facepalm*
idk. it depends on how you feel about being undocumented i guess.

my boss who knows I am undocumented feels its ok to tell all his friends and family about my situation ..... i HATE IT!! I am grateful that he has given me a job that has put me through college but that doesn't make it right for him to tell everyone and anyone.

However this year i've told a few people about it ( ones that i really trust) I think the pressure has gotten to me much more lately so I spilled the beans, but whatever if people treat me differently because of it or think less of me because of it then I just don't need them in my life.
my friends have been very supportive, i know they don't fully get it but at least they listen to me and don't judge so thats nice.

the only person that has ever been a B**** about me being undocumented was my ex's mom she felt i was only with him because he was a USC ..... not the case. But it is what is, some people will understand others won't.

I'd feel bad knowing that it is a sensitive issue. The girlfriend should know better and stop divulging things that can be damaging and hurtful.

gawd. i hate those people!! i remember i was talking to a group of friends who had no idea about my status and they started talking about people getting married solely for citizenship. they were totally treating all undocumented people as if we're on the prowl for citizens.
i gotta admit my mom keeps on telling me to grab one (LOL) but i don't want to be thought of that way. plus, i'm too young. i don't want to get married until i'm at least 28.
