For my biometrics I had to take my passport (it's valid). Once they take your fingerprints they stamp you biometrics appointment. In AZ they use that for a limited form of legal status. Well at least at the DMV. I didn't recieve any evaluation as I had proof from health reports of physical injury. As for armed robbery it may be on the list....

According to the Vermont Service Center they are now doing applications dated 'April 25, 2011',so it looks like you have sometime before you get the actual approval of your application.

AFAIK,You're currently legal somewhat.I think they place people with pending applications in deferred action until a decision is rendered on your case. You should carry a receipt of your application until that time so that you don't have any issues with Arizona and its various immigration issues......even CBP shouldn't be an issue here anymore!

I am so sorry that you had to go through that. From rudimentary googling, it seems like you are a good candidate for the U-VISA. Please consult a lawyer immediately. If you can't afford legal fees, reach out to the community non-profits who work with immigrants. Where do you live? I will do some research to find a list of non-profit orgs for you.

Take a look at this article. http://www.scrippsnews.com/content/o...witness-crimes
