I am glad the law was upheld. But correct me if I'm wrong. This doesn't apply to us does it? Obama made it clear that the undocumented will not benefit from this bill. From what I know about this deferred action status, we're going to maintain that "undocumented" status correct? Can't believe CNN had the headline "SC STRIKES DOWN INDIVIDUAL MANDATE" lol...I was shocked.

As far as I know, we don't exist in the eyes of the law but one thing that's kept me from buying insurance or really medical coverage (aside not having $300 a month to pay and $1500 deductible) is they always ask about employment.

My guess is the economics of scale will kick in when everybody has to get insurance and this will become something like Geico commercials but hopefully they won't be as nosey.

I kind of find it odd that people who don't have insurance and have been bitching about how expensive it is to pay for doctors out of pocket are complaining about this though. Someone I know who is a business owner has had this weird growth that he needs to remove but hasn't done so for years. He's complaining that businesses will have to pay more in taxes...I asked him what would he do if he had something really bad happen to him tomorrow and he'd need a surgery - eventually the taxpayers would end up paying it anyway after he went bankrupt.
