I'm paying $500 for mine, but he's a newbie lawyer and son of one of my dad's acquaintances so maybe that factors in to the discount... also, we're paying $500 each for my brother and me so in the end we still pay him $1K

Yea I went to an immigration documentations expert, expected her to know more than I do, but I ended up lecturing her on what to put ex. (c)(33) instead of (c)(14) and the addresses on where to send it, heck she even told me to put N/A on blank spaces because apparently "USCIS doesn't like blank forms" I was smh the whole time lol I honestly learned more by checking this forum. She was going to charge me 600 but when she saw that I filled the forms up, gathered and sorted my evidences; she ended up charging me 50 for "consultation". I felt like she should've paid me instead.

It's actually really easy to do it YOURSELF! The forms ask for simple information! All you have to do is type it in, print it, get a check or money order for 465$, nicely organize all of your stuff, clip them together, put them in the envelope, and ship them off ! 1,000$ is NOT worth it

I sorta did the same but she wasn't an attorney or anything. She was this lady that does taxes for my parents. She was suppose to be ready and everything. I ended up SHOWING her everything. She only took 50$ for typing in, but I realized I could of done it myself. I was really pissed that day too, she took like 30 minutes to find my high school and middle school transcripts. She kept making mistakes typing, didn't know where to mail it to, or any of the other details like (c)(33)

I dont understand why people are wasting their hard earned money on a lawyer for their DACA. If u need a little advice then u can get a consultation and ask them the questions that are bothering u before u fill out the application yourself. U can get consultation for free, or for $100-$150 bucks (from a more reputable attorney). Letting the lawyer fill it out for u seems a bit much...especially for $1000 bucks.

Let me tell u, i filled out my application, and its not $1000 worth of work. In other words there is no way in hell im giving someone $1000 bucks to fill out an application for me. If u even look at it in a different way, the lawyer will be asking u the same questions on the application, so it will turn out that u are actually the one filling out the application. U are basically paying someone $1000 bucks to type your application.

I cant wait to get back to school...i gotta become a lawyer ASAP. Its like the biggest scam ever. Lol

To those getting a lawyer...can you just answer one question for me. Why are you getting a lawyer? We will talk once you reply.

Word. To be honest with you, I feel like most of us here know more about this filing process for DACA better than a lawyer. If I had a lawyer, I would definitely not rely 100% on him/her to do everything. I would want to take a last look myself before sending it which brings up one question..why have the lawyer in the first place? Unless there is special felony case, I really don't think a lawyer is necessary with this. It is the most simple of the processes.
