Because the first wave August 15-19 were rerouted to Nebraska. Applications that followed were rerouted to other Processing Centers.

Normal cases 30 to 90 days... but I'm guessing the 821 has to he approved prior to the ead creation...

I-821D is the most important application to be approved because that application is relevant to the status for which the EAD is based on and must be approved first!

Timeline will vary due to Service Center load.

USCIS stated that Upon receiving the application (I-821d, to the processing center) it would take up to 90 days, no more, for approval. EAD approval is up to 90days also. Physical EAD Card is 30 days after EAD Is approved. Some people calculate it might be less than 90 days for the first applicants, based on the work load of the processing/more employees hired/keeping up the pace so they would have agents free for the future applicants.

During mid-July, when the USCIS internal document was leaked, relating the DACA procedure to adjudicators, the instructions within lead one to assume that both applications will be decided upon at the same time. The way I see it, the I-821D will be reviewed, and if there are absolutely no red flags, it will be approved, and then passed on for the I-765 adjudication immediately afterwards.

I'm on the side that believes that "establishing economic necessity" was just done as protocol by USCIS, I've said in the past. Thus, I truly believe they intend all DACA applicants to be approved for work authorization. That is, their intention is to approve everyone who qualifies for DACA, and unless there's something that complicates the case, that's what we should see happen.

based on what Dark Apotheosis stated:
It would be about 90 days after the Processing center received our packet for approval and another 30 day s for physical EAD, tops.
So lets see my packet was sent to CaliSC on Aug 24th, i got my I-797c letter on Aug 27th, so CaliSC got it about the same time. mmmm 4 months tops would bring it to Dec 27th for EAD... lets see if this prediction will come true!

Yes, that's pretty much how it should play out. The only thing is that there is no time limit on the DACA adjudication, so that's where USCIS will take their time: the wait can be 2, 3 months, or 6 or 8. But, indeed, work authorization should come right along with DACA approval.

Having said that, they are moving pretty quickly with biometrics notices and all that, so final decisions would seem to come sooner rather than later.
