Just came back from the SSA office in Alhambra, CA off Garfield.

Got approved for EAD 10/3/12, and received card 10/9/12. I took my USCiS mail, EAD card, Passport *current*, and a big ass smile.

No problems.
No 10 days.

Just under two weeks to get my card.

^.^

Yes the rep called me and let me know. He told me when I went in person he would check the status every 3 days and then call me when it was approved. I was pleasantly surprised.

just went today, and the field MANAGER told me that i should wait 48 hours , reason is because my name is very common! i guess it really depends on the office, and their employees...

she also went on to say that DHS will send back paper work that they have to fill out and verify which is why some of us take longer to process...

so .. i'm calling back on the third day and she said i should have my # ready... then off to the DMV!

this is in Moreno Valley CA
