If you want a job asap, like I do, try retail or temp agencies. I'm gonna go to a temp agency myself soon if I can't get anything by the end of next week.

I've applied to one before, basically what they did was test me in computer skills (MS Office, typing speed, etc), look over your resume, and then place you in on of their client's office. You work under the supervision of both the client and the temp agency, but it is the temp agency that pays you and whom you have to report to every week, without fail, your hours and schedule.

They say these temp jobs sometimes lead to the client hiring your directly if they like you well enough and you approve. Usually, I think each assignment lasts about 3 months or so.

I never actually got hired because the time I applied, they actually verified my documents and they said there was a problem and to call the verification office to fix it. Since I couldn't do that, I just desisted from that job and just found another one later on. Of course, now, that shouldn't be a problem

I found my job through craiglist. I dropped off my cover letter at some of the places that I applied at. If you can try to speak to the managers so that they can at least get to know you a bit. This helped me tremendously landing an interview.

Wow..that sounds pretty good. Where do you usually find these agencies? The only agency i know is the one where i have to pay money for them to find me a job. They dont review my resume or anything. -_- and yep, we dont have to worry about our documents having any problems. Its awesome!

Personally, I'm creeped out by craigslist but if you find something good, then go right ahead. lol

Temp agencies, if you can't find some by doing a Google search, look in your local newspaper or their online version and you'll see that they have ads posted with something like "looking for professionals" and it lists more than one position. Those are usually temp agencies. If you do a monster search or any of those search engines that have company profiles, you'll see on those pages they are temp agencies.

I'll give you an example of a local one that I know of so you can see kinda how they are: Sparks

I'm also creeped out by craiglist and they're not very reliable. I remember I called this place that listed an address near my neighborhood and it ended up being in another city. -_-

I had not thought about temp agencies do you know if you would be required to be a college graduate?

Craigslist is hardly ever helpful. No one has ever called me from there. I dont even bother to try that site. But thank you. Im going to def try these temp agencies. Im willing to try anything right now as long as i can make some money and get back on a regular school schedule.
