Well the bank was looking for someone bilingual that had graduated from high school and was good with numbers. I included that I worked at Subway for a year. Iwent to two interviews. One with the branch manager and the other with the regional manager. They wanted someone with good people skills

I was hired part time with opportunity for full time eventually and maybe a raise in 6 months. I am currently working 23 hours at $14 for entry level. A lot of big banks pay less though, just a matter of finding your right fit

As a dreamer I think and hope that when ppl show you something else other than state ID you will remember that we are all equal. Regardless of status.
Congrats again. My fellow Dreamer.
Thank you so much! Thankfully I got hired at a multicultural center so we work very hard to help and educate the latino community I would never discriminate because I was there once. I am really excited to be able to help the latino community bank in spanish.

I am not making anyone look bad. You do not know my situation & why I feel the need to keep my first job at the moment, who are you to judge & point fingers?? Your option doesn't matter this way. So keep it to your self.

You would be surprised how many people applied for the EAD only to use it to get SSN and Driver's license.

I have a bunch of USC friends who work under the table. WHY? Because while you're/we're thinking about the wonderful opportunities that might surface with the newly acquired EAD, many people know how hard taxes can hit and how difficult life situations can get. Working under the table in many instances allows one to make more money than someone on the books. Also, doing this allows more leniency when youre filing and reporting taxes. I'm not saying whether or not i endorse this...what I am saying is the reality that many people face who have been eligible to work all their lives.

Yes this is true. SSN has been very helpful in my case. Ill be finishing my pharmacy tech course and become a tech in this coming year. For now im still working illegally. I know ill not be making the same money in a new job that im making in my current job which all i do is drive around . Im planning on going up north this year and make good money than just stay here and work at minimum wage. But until now no new job.

Yeah I will definitely look for some legal employment, but nonetheless it's not as critical right now (kinda between jobs now, the place where I'm gonna work at opens up next week, definitely will look for something once I finish my degree). Driver's license is pretty much my current goal now, NYC's public transit is awful. I swear half of those bus drivers shouldn't pass their driving test, they speed up to 30 on the half block of space and then rapidly brake, it's not fun feeling your stomach contents swoosh around.

Hi guys,

Congratulations to those who got approved! I have a question about renewing our work permit. I am thinking of quitting my under the table job and go to school full time now since I can finally get in to the nursing program ( they need a SS number in order to get in thats why I am only doing part time at a community at the moment). So, I am just wondering if it would be hard for me to renew my work permit in two years if I will not use it like have a job or it would be okay to renew since I am going to college full time to finish early.

Thank you so much.
