Question about obtaining an ID? - Page 2

I received my EAD in the mail on Nov. 26, and I went to apply for my ID on the 29th. Had no issues whatsoever.

what kind of proof of residency did you give them?

I showed them my bank statement and the approval letter from Deferred Action.

I took my SS, EAD and like three letters from USCI (within 90 days) and that was it. Take money too lol

I went for my ID and Learners Permit. She printed a page with my photo and I think that's like my ID for now. On the paper it says it takes from 30-45 days to get it.

Basically I got my EAD in the mail and then went to the SSA office to apply for a number the same day. Got the card in the mail about a week later. With the card in hand I went to the TX DPS and took the driver's permit test (no need for classes since I'm over 25). All that I needed was the SSN card, EAD, and 2 letters showing texas residency (I used a transcript and one of the USCIS letters). I got the plastic ID like 8 days later. It says "LIMITED TERM" but oh well -- I just keep it hidden behind other stuff in my wallet :/
