I'm in MA and recently got my driver's license, it's for 5 years. To get your driver's permit or to apply for a non driver's license ID (Mass ID), you'll need to present your EAD card, social security card and a proof of address (like a checkbook with your address on it or a copy of your school transcript prepared not more tha 6 months ago and sent to your present address). I hope this helps.

Bank statments on your name also works to prove your residence.

You need: One document to prove your date of birth, one to prove your signature, proof of residence, valid SSN. The document to prove your date of birth and signature CANNOT be the same.

I went to the Revere DMV. Be prepared to wait at least 2 hours... Also, if you plan on using old DL, make sure it's still valid. They won't accept an expired one for proof of anything.

but it says "only valid with DHS authorization" your social security number is not valid, you must go back to the SS office and get it reprinted without those words, that's a mistake on their part. If they ask you why they should give you a social without those words printed tell them that i sent you. they know who zone2oo0 around there.
