After talking to the guy and answering a few questions, he took my picture, had me do the quick vision test, and pay the $48. A few minutes later I was walking out with my new driver's license valid for one year (which is still better than nothing)
So all I need is the $48, good to know.

This for all of you who went to renew an expired FL license. Did you fill out a Florida driver license or identification card application online or at the dmv office?

Gas prices are so damn high that I had to refuse an offer because I was looking to spend $20 gas everyday.

Ok went and applied for my ss card today (I've had a # for a long time I just never had a card). The lady said 7-10 days to arrive. Now here is the question I had a FL DL before but it only had one of my last names. Now, my work auth has both and so will my ss card the lady said wait 24 to 48 hrs for the DMV recs to update and then go get the DL. Do you guys think it will be a major issue? I mean I kept the same ss # I had before.

Okay, I'm thinking about taking my road test this week or next. For those that have taken it in FL, can you guys give me a quick breakdown on what I should expect?

Also, is parallel parking part of the test in FL?

I took it when I was 16 so it might have changed so just remember to look behind your right shoulder when backing up, use directionals when switching lanes and come to a complete stop not a rolling stop and you should be alright. Don't be nervous, you can do it Holmes
