Jeez, this is definitely something a young person should never have to say.

I'm not too sure if this depends on different banks, but the first time I tried to sign up for an account at Wachovia, the lady told me that I HAD to renew my passport. She said that I can't get an account unless I renew it. I went ahead and renewed it and went back to Wachovia and got a checking and savings account.

I showed the lady my ITIN, school ID, and passport but she only made a copy of my passport. She barely looked at my ID and ITIN card. I live in Miami, Florida.

You can even get a CREDIT card through BOA using your tax i.d number as opposed to a Social Security number. . . I got it figured out and it's on my "to do" list haven't done it yet though. But we have to build our credit. Get a Bank Account!!! then you can get the card with your picture on it which works as an ID in some instances.
