Good question, and this question makes me disappointed and upset.

Like I said, this was approved in the House, which is where CIR is at right now.

CIR is in the Senate. The House has yet to come together with a bill.

Not that this matters but this is just freakin whack man. Anybody remember how Health Care was passed in the House using some sort of strategy? I forgot what they refer to that as...but isn't something like that possible with CIR? This dumbasses will never let CIR pass.

Republicans are contradicting all of their efforts by claiming to move forward on immigration. House is supposedly coming up with an immigration reform while Rep. Labrador abandons the group forming the bill due to disagreement on obamacare. I read that Labrador wanted to deport all of those who immigrants who could not afford healthcare. That is the same statement as anyone who cannot afford their ER bills would face prison time. This is our livelihood. Republicans have not changed their views on immigration. They just want to look like they are putting an effort to reform immigration meanwhile they will never let it pass. I hope democrats wins the majority over the republican seats in the house in 2014.

I think that strategy was simple Democratic supermajority, with about 40 votes to spare. The final vote was 219-212, and only one Republican voted for it. One important amendment was added behind the scenes, which led to some controversy and ultimately required reconciliation with the Senate version of the bill, which was not subject to a filibuster and did not require 60 votes but only a simple majority. This tactic will not work when the Democrats are the House Minority.

Yeah, it's the infamous Republican strategy of "if you can't beat it, defund it".
