I agree. Several analysts have said you can't pay attention to the posturing. What is being said behind closed doors is the true indicator. Unfortunately, we are not privy to those discussions. If the caucus agrees that CIR must be done for the good of the party, then it will happen.

All we can do is wait and see.

The House has been doing symbolic stuff for quite a while now (obamacare). The symbolism behind the DACA vote was to mostly show the rejection of executive powers he used. I'm pretty sure that Republicans will have to come to an agreement and they know this so thats why they're putting their stance further to the right. Trust me, if back in June 15, 2012 the house voted on DACA, they would've rejected it. If DACA was an actual congress bill, then it is a bad bill since it leaves the entire system in a limbo of problems (States rejecting DL's individually, the argument wether we are still illegal or not etc...).

Here's my view of the situation: no one knows what will happen. This DACA vote in the House is anger over Obama's use of his executive powers, and also Republican congressmen showing how far to the right they can be. However, I think everyone in this forum is starting to forget who these people are.

They're politicians.

Politicians play golf with each other, have certain privileges, and are very well-connected. They are the political class. And I don't say this just to sound like an edgy teenager, but they really don't give a f**k about these issues. I know the President gave us DACA, but you people need to realize that he is no messiah. He is a politician, and I suspect he has no strong feelings about immigration. Just like everyone in Congress. So in the end, the political class will meet in their private rooms, and decide how they want to vote on this bill. And I have a feeling that this bill has a 55% chance of passing, because of societal pressures as well as wanting to look good on this important issue. They might also kill this bill. Bottom line: we don't know, because we're not them. And these guys have no opinion, they're like robots, so we can't know what they'll do. Remember that immigration reform has had a lot of ups and downs over the last couple of weeks. This might be a down.

But all we can do is get on with our lives and wait until this gets to the House.

It's what I been saying since February. Stop checking immigration news the more you read about it and read the comments the more you will get fill with frustration and anger. Stop reading the news section and time will fly fast. To add to that post don't forget these politicians don't work for us and we are in no in their interest. At the end of the day, while they have their differences in doing so they all work for the same team.

Yes because I believe DAP is a credible source. I get it from other sources also.

Took me a bit to catch his gimmick. Airhead, post with out much thought, answer stuff as witty as possible. The type of guy who likes to answer as literally as possible.
