In an alien world, even an earth like one, the environment would be so different that the results would probably blow our mind.

Having said that, I would be surprised if there wasn't some kind of life on another planet. As mentioned, there are countless planets out there that we haven't even seen. While life arising is a statistical aberration, there's plenty of space in the universe for that aberration to have occurred again and again and again. I can't say that the life would be what we call 'intelligent'. It would be seriously awesome if it were, but it could also be in various stages from single celled organisms to whatever...or it could have been evolving on that planet for hundreds of millions of years longer than we have and still not have achieved what we would call personhood. Even if all we fine is the equivalent of extra terrestrial plankton, I would love it.

Seriously, space is one of my favorite things to think about. I know it's impractical to put the money that we do into NASA and so on, and that perhaps it will never come to anything, but the thought that it would? Damn... I wonder what would happen if space travel were opened up to the average person, or at least to more than just government personnel. Would we have gone farther?

lmao. Can you tell that I've thought about all this?
You took the words out of my mouth. I don't believe in ET but life in other planets is some thing that I can buy. The main reason why people choose to believe that only planet Earth is capable of life is because then life becomes and statistic thus questions the very exsistence of God. Life is probably an statistic. If all the correct ingredients are in a planet there is a chance of life. What about God? I give God the benefit of the doubt, which is the basis of faith.

Yes, we all laugh now, but who will be laughing once the covenant come and we're not prepared?

Yeah, Optimist, some people do see it that way. It's not a problem for me, because I'm an atheist, but I don't see why it should be a problem for religious people, either. After all, God could create life on more than one planet. I think that if the story of creation in the Bible were true, it would be interesting if God planted an Adam and an Eve across millions of planets and watched how each world turned its own way.

BTW, NASA funding is important. People don't realize what a wealth of technologies came from our exploration of space. Even if it wasn't for that the amount of inspiration and mystery it produces is well worth the bucks.
Oh, very true. I expect that on another planets, all of the creatures there will be of similar make, and it's possible that they would be in a way similar to those on earth, but also very possible that they would not, as a reflection of their environment. I would say that some kind of message processing organ is necessary, though.

And, I mean, I'm not saying that they're probably all crazily different like the aliens from War of the Worlds either, haha.

Unfortunately, ignorant people believe the bible is the direct word of God and, as such, it is infallible. Therefore, there is only one Adam and Eve and no ETs

Actually the Bible doesn't say whether or not there is or isn't life on other planets. Adam and Eve, according to the Bible, were created in the image of God on this planet; however, it does not preclude the idea of life on other planets. I personally think there is life on other planets...

In the Bible, there are many instances where weird creatures appear in the sky... This is found in Ezekiel and Daniel. I guess you could them "aliens", in a sense. In Revelation, it talks about a lot of things that can be perceived as an alien invasion. Bugs hurting people, Abaddon's minions carrying out painful punishments, etc. It's all there in the Bible.

^^^I was actually watching a show on The History Channel that made a pretty convincing case for aliens in the Bible... If The History Channel says it, then it must be right! :P
