Yeah...but you can only apply if you've attended and graduated from BCC. I also have an offer for a 60% scholarship to UM but, again, it's mostly due to my CC GPA.

No...sigh, it's FIU. I hate that school with a fiery passion [almost as much as FSU...LOL] because, during the summer of '06, I took a couple of classes there and the school just disappointed me from beginning to end [horrible teachers, the most incompetent staff members, a guidance counselor that could barely speak English and kept giving me a blank look whenever I asked her questions...URGH]. I'm only going there for the free ride LOL .

If only UF gave full scholarships to "international students"... .

Wow.. those people sound as incompetent as the couselors from my school (high school). When I was asking them about the FL bright futures scholarships (whether you could apply after graduation) the woman just gave me a blank stare...lol

^...did they tell you that you couldn't apply for it after graduation? I would've been in the same situation had it not been for my amazing BRACE counselor...to this day I send the lady regular emails about how grateful I am!

But yeah, there's so many people that I've met that, because of stupid administrators, have lost their BF scholarship for one reason or another. Sigh, it sucks .

I think you need to apply for it before graduation... and the lady I spoke to told me that I couldn't apply at all bc of my status.

Conclusion: FL sucks

Yeah, I was able to apply . My BRACE adviser was amazing...I love that lady! BF doesn't take status into account; all you need to do is manage to get into college at the in-state tuition rate and you receive the scholarship.

Yup I'm one of them They told me I couldn't get it so I didn't apply and a few months ago I found out that I could have. I was so mad. I hate when people give you bad advice, if you don't know something just say so, its ok to not know everything...

But anyways FIU might not be at the level of UF but its something and they are really growing. They're even going to open a med school in 2009.

Ooohhh! So it'll kick in when you're able to get the in-state. good for you

Btw, did you apply before or after graduation?
