You are an American in every way imaginable. And if you go out and tell people your story, many of them will agree that you are an American. Right now, its just the racists who are screaming the loudest. Don't worry, the tide will turn.

Say a child born in a foreign country to American citizens comes to the U.S. after having spent his/her first three months abroad. When he/she grows up here for the rest of their lives, everyone will consider him/her American and they won't be thinking of whether he/she has legal immigration status as an American.

You are an American in every meaning of the word and don't let anyone tell you different.

hey roxana if you are 16 you still have the option of one of your citizen family members to help you out by adoption. Look in to it quickly before you turn 17.
welcome

Thanks for the encouragement and I didn't know I could be adopted, I hadn't even considered the possibility. Thanks for pointing it out.

welcome roxana , this place rocks, as you will come to find and don't be shy or afraid to express yourself here, you are in hostile lands .
hehe btw concerning what rahman said...my girlfriend told me of this guy in her class in finland that what born in the u.s., not intentionally...parents were in vacation and pop he came =p, and they left like a week or 2 later. He speaks english but only because everybody in finland speaks english xD. But had NEVER lived in the U.S. he recently visited like 19 years later and was welcomed with open arms. Good for him but i mean cmon is that really what americans want to consider an american?! Found it sad on my part and laughable that this guy was a citizen! and i'm not even a resident xP... that he could be called an american and i couldnt...it doesn't make sense.

I've never really told any of my friends that, but it's a relief to be able to get it out there without fear of hostility. This site is great and I condone whoever came up with it. It took me two tries to be able to log on and I am glad I did. I'll soon turn 17, I'm a junior in high school, and I'm an excellent student. I support this movement because I'll soon be graduating, (well in like a year and a half) and I really want to go to college.

Thank you for reading this...that is if anybody reads it.
Hey Roxana, pingpong abyss is right the only difference was only 3 months, i too came here at a young age, (i was 4 yrs old, when i came here to America, from the Philippines) feel free to ask questions, either to me or to anyone here in DAP, and we would be happy to help you. since you are still young, you need to start looking into a couple of things that show that you are residing here, in the u.s., once you turn 18, i.e. opening a bank acct or getting an ITIN, stuff like that. like i said, if you have any questions, this is the place to get info. pm me if u want. welcome to DAP!

Hello! Roxana
Sadly somehoe we share the same story, but let me tell you something continue studying and hopefully our Dream Act will come true this year. Please continue your studies, when I was in High School my conselor told me that I would never graduate and that college was only a dream, but I decided to demostrate all that I had a Dream, and now I am at San Marcos University. Let me tell you "Si se puese", there is alot of help in college that can be useful for eveyone that wishes to continue with their education. Going to college will help you to save money when the time comes to go to the University. So please continue studying and people will see that we deserve the Dream Act...
