Do you think it's worthwhile to try to appeal? Does the judge ask you if you want to appeal?

^^^ Wow, you took Goldman Sachs to court? Seriously?

But, yeah, I have (or had) a speeding ticket and it's a pretty simple though annoying process as everyone else has mentioned (and since yours is just a subway ticket it should be even easier). Not showing up could have some serious or at least very inconvenient consequences so I would go at the very least, make sure you're early as there's always a lot of people, and take more than one form of ID if you have it. Also, if there's time, you may want to ask the clerk about any other ways of avoiding the fine, kinda like you have options (defensive driving, deferred adjudication, etc.) with speeding tickets, etc. If you have any further questions, you can usually ask the clerk. Good luck!!!!

At least here they ask you how you plead but it's really like "do you want fries with that?" they didn't even look up from the register when I did it. You have to understand that these are very lazy and tired government workers, they really don't care, they just want you out of there.

Yeah but it's fairly commonplace if you do business with companies like that.

Show up to court goddammit, its no big deal. Just walk in there, follow the signs and you should be in and out. When I went there were other people in a rather small room, maybe 10-12 people, all standing up, and the judge just started at one end and asked us what happened, so I just said, I jaywalked etc. etc. about 10 seconds, then he ordered me to pay, I paid and I was on my way. No big deal, its not like ICE is in the courtroom. Don't walk around scared LOL

Go to court. No thing will happen. It is just a ticket.
I had to go to court for selling beer to a minor. A far wost offense than that of yours.
Just plead guilty and pay the fine, plain and simple. You don't have to worry about anything.
