The core problem I have with drugs is the same one with alcohol. I don't really give a shit what people do in the confines of their home but if you smoke up, get in a car and kill a person I think you deserve to get water boarded for the rest of your natural life.

Alcohol is basically a drug. It makes you hallucinate. It makes you see attractive women while a sober man would not.

Actually there have been tests done on this, you drive a lot more carefully when you've smoked up, more carefully than you would while you're sober.

Marijuana impairs judgment, reaction time, motor skills. Lowers peripheral vision and distorts depth perception. Just look at the statistics of how many accidents involve drivers that were high. Whether coupled with alcohol (as it usually is) or not people driving on drugs should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The sheer number of people who have gotten raped and robbed while high should give you an idea of what it does to your brain. The biggest deterrent to drug use is seeing people on drugs being so stoned that they can't pour themselves a glass of water, much less operate a car at 60 mph.

This bs rhetoric on "kids: talk to your parents, they smoked pot too" is what's wrong with people these days. People are so stuck in the mindset of somebody looking out for them all the time that they're incapable of independent, objective judgment. Gang membership, HIV infected needles, and drugs that make you a docile drone don't come with red flags and a mommy warning you of the harmful effects.

It's time people took some fucking responsibility for their actions. It's sickening that a high or drunk person who killed or injured someone can be out of prison before I'm over the 10 year ban for being brought here.
