Not being legal is not a good enough reason to blow off one semester so you can hang out with your friends for one more year. College is not so bad, and just because you're graduating doesn't mean you're gonna stop talking to your high school friends.

If everyone's telling you not to do it, it must be because it's a really bad idea.

LOL you know i actaully understand where your coming from, i once thought the same thing, I thought about fluking my last semseter of college b/c i was so terrified of not being able to do anything, i even failed a huge test not on purpose but i was so scardd about the future that when i studied i wouldnt grasp concepts very well, i didnt flunk since i had to pay for my classes and i wanted to graduate with my friends, and well even if your scared you still have to face your fears, my advice its not worth it just graduate, certain things you cant control and you have to deal with them when the time comes..

As an illegal you have to keep in mind that the obstacles you will face will be more difficult for you than the average citizen so you have to take all these things head on. Taking a semester off to graduate with a cousin would be really dumb especially if you want to go to college. Things will be okay after high school. You just have to be brave purposely flunking will only harm your future.

Come on, he's asking for advise not insults...

@FrankoKid: I understand where you're coming from with this, but I don't think this is a good idea; you'll come to regret it later.

It's a ridiculous plan to put your future behind for a year just so you can be with your friends. Friends come and go. You need to stay on track for your future and not worry about friends. Trust me, the friends you meet in college will be just as great as the friends you have right now. Maybe even better.

Dude, we're not your guidance counselors or your family. Neither are we your "yes-men". But blowing off graduation, just for the sake of hanging out with friends, is one of the dumbest things you'll ever do.

So what you're illegal? That doesn't mean you can't go to college. Go to CC, take a few credits per semester but GRADUATE high school. Graduation at any level of education is an accomplishment. Think about this, if you blow off graduation now and you're still illegal when you do graduate, then you'll still be illegal but now a year behind everyone else. Then you'll look even more like a fool.

Oh and guess what, the DREAM Act says that students have to have graduated high school in order to receive any benefits, so not only will you be illegal but you'll have blown the only shot at getting legal. You can tell your friends that when you're all hanging out behind the counter at Burger King.

Man up and take some responsibility. Stop feeling sorry for yourself just because you're illegal. That doesn't mean you can't get a job or go to college. Man-the-fuck-up.

I agree with Rahman. Seems like your letting friends control your life. YOU should control you life. Holding yourself back just for the sake of hanging out with friends is not a very smart thing to do. What did you think we were gonna say, sure stay another year? Look, we don't know you well enough to lie to you, and we're giving you the real deal.

Your illegal? What does that have to do with graduating?
