I have no sympathy for people that basically ignored any and all ads saying "CIR/DACA will not cover you, don't try to come, you won't get any legal status, we will remove you if you do come".

They still did. Now when DHS is making good on that promise they're suddenly like "que?". Hell if it wasn't for that surge then republicans at least wouldn't have ammo to use.

I feel sympathy because at the end of the day we are all trying to make a better future for our families.

Some of these people are fleeing some really f*cked up things from their homeland. Let's not turn into a bunch of Michelle Malkin, now that we're in the relative safety of DACA.

And unless they get Marco Rubio, who is getting his ass kicked in the primary, the GOP has a bin Laden's chance in GITMO winning the general presidential election. DACA is safe. Thank god for Donald Trump.

If you are a DACA recipient, your sole job would be absolutely to make sure you maintain good moral character and do not commit even the smallest misdemeanor. If you do that, you are safe. The government does not have time to "go after" DACA recipients like some people here claim it does. They work on priority lists. But yes it would be good to elect a Democrat. Regardless we are good till 2018 for sure for sure. Don't be scared unnecessarily.

You are making some serious claims here. Who told you all that? Stop scaring people unnecessarily by spreading misinformation. I bet you any immigration lawyer would laugh his/her ass off if he/she read your post. The only thing right you said is about electing a Democratic president. The government doesn't give a shit about you. They're more worried about illegals linked to drugs and terrorists. Talk for yourself brah. There is no way I'm going to be "out" of this country. I am a very informed person. DACA recipients who are law abiding are 100% safe. End of story.

I finally found someone who has a better vision of the political environment

I applaud you. I don’t know why people with DACA are “so worried” whoever the next president is would get rig of the program. It’s sad to see how these guys are just spreading fear because of what they thing might happen. Stop spreading fear.

Listen guys with DACA; please stop worrying about the next election outcome. Get to work, be productive, stay busy and out of trouble. That’s all you have to do.

I respect what both of you are saying, and I am actually law abiding and as productive as I can be. However, I still have this fear inside me that since DACA is not 'permanent,' then it can be taken as fast as it was given/granted.

For example, I can guarantee from his own speeches that Trump will actually veto DACA renewals. It's not logical for him to just revoke all our work authorizations, but what's stopping him from making sure we cannot renew after the expiration date?

I do, however, agree that we are safe until 2018 (that is when all of our cards expire). As long as we have either Clinton or Sanders in the White House, we are safe.

So back to the topic at hand, these raids are aimed at families that came into the country last year and that are from central America, correct? Poor people, I feel for them. After all, they're just trying to make it in life. I'm glad the prime target is not families or people that have been here for years. I hope immigration doesn't stop by my door for the day of the rosca or for me.

That's just it. There was no doubt what the outcome would be and they were specifically told that none of the programs would apply to them. All they did was to strengthen the Republican narrative that "DACA encourages other law breakers to come here" and "we need to secure the border first".

Do I feel sympathy? Sure, we're all human but sometimes there aren't enough life boats to save everybody.
