Umm I'm pretty sure Trump knows EXACTLY what his cabinet wants. Kelly is already head of DHS who else does he need? It's obvious daca won't be repealed since he's already carrying out so many executive actions without his cabinet.

Why so much organization and planning to repeal a memo?

Maybe it's all just talk to give the hardliners something to look forward to, while really, he doesn't really care to repeal it.

Obama did something, he worked out a deal behind closed doors. Something significant. Obama showed a lot of confidence that nothing would be done to us when he left. If he hadn't, he would have done or said something political.

Obama is not the one to step away from unfinished issues like that. If Trump does something, Obama will come back and hopefully organize.

Obama tied his hands somehow. He told him what are the optics of a valedictorian being deported. Trump realizes this and with all the deportation force he is about to enact, he can't remove our protections without us being all over the media garnering sympathy.

This whole waiting for the cabinet line is odd... I know Sessions isn't confirmed but I'm sure that he is still on the loop regarding all of the EO's that are being passed, so his point of view regarding DACA isn't being disregarded simply because he hasn't been confirmed yet. It certainly seems as though they've decided to sit on DACA for a while to assess their options. If there wasn't some push back inside the White House, I'm sure that DACA would have already gone or been included in the EO's that are being signed today/this week.

I just hope whoever is holding the line for us (Priebus, Ryan, Kushner, etc.) in the administration will be able to continue to do so once Sessions comes on board. I think next week is the critical week since I don't think Democrats can keep delaying the confirmation vote forever.
