Not really. My father left to the US when I was a toddler cause he couldn't find a decent job to maintain my mom and I.

He grew up with his grandmother working for local farmers to have a meal for both of them. So, he never got a chance to have an education even though I think he is really smart.

He and my mom wanted to me to have a chance at pursuing my dreams and I think for the most part they accomplished their goal.

Nope.

I do wonder though what would have happened if we stayed in Mexico. My dad's family is solidly middle class with my grandfather being a government worker and all. They live so comfortably that my grandmother hires people to do her housework. Whenever they get sick they don't mind driving two hours to go see a private doctor in the big city.
Several of my cousins are professionals and live comfortable lives as well.
