Hey Ed, get a credit card anyway. When you purchase something just use your credit card instead and pay it off completely every month and you'll be fine.

You WILL need good credit in the future. Why not start now? The only people that MIGHT not need good credit are individuals who have the power to purchase everything with ca$hola.

Oh yea, screw that secured CC baloney. Go to citibank or as a last resort capital one. Take a look at this... link

I put in my ITIN where it asked for SSN and online yes. You should check it out I had no credit history and they still gave it to me.

Wow, really? Is there a problem that might arise for using the ITIN instead of SSN when getting a card from Capital one?

You did everything from online?

I have the student credit card from Bank of America, and I did everything online also. I just put my ITIN instead of a SSN, and I had no problems at all. I actually just got it in the mail a couple of days ago.

I know, but I rather have a Capital One credit card than a Bank of America card. I already have a banking account with WaMu, I'd want an official credit card company.

I want to try applying for Capital One online using my ITIN but I'm waiting for DREAM2oo7 to confirm or give a bit more details.

Bank credit cards generally have lower interest rates, lower monthly payment requirements (not that this should matter), and higher credit limits than proprietary cards. Nothing wrong with a bank card.

If I were looking for a credit card again I would go with citibank. My next card will be a cashback from them...

Also on a completely pointless and random note, Photo Expressions will allow you to personalize your card with any picture you want to upload for the card design. I just got mine in the mail with a picture of me and a beautiful DREAMer/forum member. Now I would scan it and show it off, but for security reasons of allowing others to see my account number...I thought best not to. I wouldn't want those legals stealing my identity you know? (No offense Pingpong / VaeVictis & other legal members hehe)

Legal is legal!!!
I tried applying for it online, but what do i check for this question?

Yes, I am a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.No, I am not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. Why do we ask this? You must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States to continue your application. If you have questions, please call 1.800.732.9194 and a customer service representative will assist you.
