I don't know, ultimately I don't think Republicans care all that much if Trump is impeached because they have Mike Pance (a more predictable and controllable Republican) waiting to finish out his term. If Trump started executing a more democratic agenda it would be in the interest of the Democrats to keep impeachment away so Pance does not get in the white house.

Issue with impeachment of your own party member is the same as an issue with committing a coup.

If you succeed, great though you'll have a fractured party with Trump cultists crying for blood and a very weak President going into next election. This will normalize eventually.

If you fail then your party is basically split into two or more camps and Trump is the vengeful kind, moderates might flee and become independents and radicals will become more radicalized.
