Exactly, it says it's basically the Senate's RACA. I guess we'll find out tomorrow

Do Dems support this? RACA in the house only has 32 cosponsers vs 200 for the Dream act

Maybe it's lengthier background checks because DREAM Act currently requires submission of biometric and biographic data when 1) apply for conditional permanent residence 2) apply for removal of conditional status

It doesn't specifically say anything for applying for citizenship, but if you go through the normal citizenship process you have to submit biometric data again.

So the original DREAM Act does vet every applicant carefully. I suppose we will see when the text of the bill is released.

You have to do a medical exam when you do AOS so why is this any different?

As long as I can drive, work and travel, put me through a vetting process and then some more.

its the same guidelines as the DREAM ACT, they just made it sound more conservative thru "extreme vetting" with 3 checkpoints:

initial entry to program, 5 years after conditional GC, 10 years later for citizenship.

pass whatever man, idc no mo, ill pass all the vetting they want.
they can cup my balls or inspect my prostate for the medical exam for all i care.

lets go!

The extra background check at the 5 year point is interesting, but I have a feeling it's their way of selling it as part of "national security"

Overall, I think it's a small price to pay if the extra background check, the medical exam, and the extra time to become a citizen can get this to pass.

We shall see.

Medical exam as in like the ones I do for work every year? Like drug testing/full blood test, lung capacity, eyes/ ears?

Or just blood pressure vaccines?

Yes, you won't have to give them a kidney!
