But now even the freedom caucus is lining up with Republicans for tax "reform". It looks like the Koch brothers want their money and they want it now. It's do or die for Republicans with tax reform.

Reconciliation window expires on Saturday meaning that they'll need 60 votes. They have nothing, they tried taking people's healthcare away to give tax cuts to millionaires.

anything from saturday and on needs 60 votes in the senate.
this congress and this president does not have any major legislative victories this year.

they need a win on something, whatever it is...

- tax reform
- immigration
- debt ceiling
- govt funding

or they will be out in 2018.

Anyway to contact Durbin or Pelosi and ask them to add DA to this in case they don't consider it?

In the judiciary committee there are 11 republicans and 9 democrats.
2 of the those republicans are DA cosponsors. 2-3 more could agree to DA with border security.

If DA doesn't get attached to this, or at least doesn't even get a proper vote then democrats have failed us.

This is what Pelosi said after meeting with Paul Ryan to discuss DACA on their September 13 meeting:

"Earlier in the day, Leader Hoyer and I, along with the Tri-Caucus Chairs, met with Speaker Ryan to encourage passage of the DREAM Act. He suggested that he may need border security measures and we suggested the McCaul-Thompson border security package that unanimously passed the Homeland Security Committee."

If this McCaul bill is similar to the McCaul-Thompson bill that passed a few years ago, then there shouldn't be an issue. It was the Democrats who suggested it as a reasonable trade for the DA, so they are clearly on board.
