They need to stick to the DA and stop wasting time on other pointless bills. IMO, it is good that Durbin and the Dems aren't budging.

Didn't consider it like that, republicans are doing a speedrun of the 5 stages of grief:

Denial - Democrats aren't getting squat from the negotiations.
Anger - Fucking democrats didn't show up.
Barganing - Okay we can settle on this, please?. (We are here)
Depression - I can't believe Dream Act passed.

There's also Acceptance but who cares anymore at this point about republicans, lol.
Brilliant

Eh better than Bridge Act
It’s not DACA. It says 10 years of legal status so conditional GC or something similar.

People seem to be on a high horse here but if push comes to shove, these same people will be begging for a bridge act.

This bill is Ryan's way of gauging if he can get any of the Dem's to break rank. They REALLY don't want Dream Act because base will say it's amnesty. Their word gymnastics is basically if there is no path to citizenship, then its not amnesty.

Anything short of deportation is amnesty to their base. Even DACA and the Bridge Act were referred as amnesty programs. Dems need to stick with DA and not budge. Respect to Durbin for not giving in and sticking with DA. He saw right through their intentions.

Amnesty has a different meeting for the base, Republicans, and Democrats.

For the base: any one not deported immediately is getting amnesty
For Republicans: anyone who gets citizenship from out of status is getting amnesty
For Democrats: if EVERY illegal/out of status gets citizenship no strings attached is getting amnesty
