Here’s a story for you:

There are a bunch of rumors flying around the Capitol that Paul Ryan’s speakership may be coming to an end soon.

The speculation over Ryan’s next move has particularly intensified as Republicans negotiate spending deals with Democrats. Ryan has repeatedly pushed off the possibility that a legislative solution for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration program will be attached to a government spending agreement, but conservatives are worried Republicans could finish their tax bill, have the speaker announce his retirement and then watch Ryan do the same kind of “barn cleaning” that Boehner did at the end of his speakership.

im willing to sacrifice Paul Ryan to get us legalized.

he did say in October that DACA will be part of the spending deal before changing his mind a few days later to appease the Freedom Caucus.

"It’s unclear whether Ryan has any further political aspirations beyond this job, but some Republicans think Ryan would be served well by offering himself as a sacrifice for the completion of an immigration deal, particularly if Ryan’s political aspirations are far off in the future. (Or if he doesn’t have any future political aspirations.)"

Could you imagine both McConnell and Ryan sacrifice themselves by allowing a DA vote?

it's a really tricky thing to get done.
i'm past the point of caring about the reactionaries that will blow up when it passes.
even if we got a bill that guaranteed them the wall would be finished in a month they'd still bitch about us getting legalized.
there's no satisfying them, but the border needs to be secured, so i'm sure republicans can understand that much.
if not, there'll be hell to pay directly from trump AND his base.

This is like some Yugioh type of shit. Then Trump flips over a trap card.

Ryan’s leaving could pave the way for Republicans to swallow a January spending deal with mostly Democratic votes, perhaps raise the debt ceiling again ― another thing Boehner did as he headed for the exit ― and potentially find a DACA fix.

Honestly is the far right and I don't think it's a big fraction. It's just that they make so much noise!

Paul Ryan's seat also is somewhat swing-y. The recent poll had him only up 6 percentage points v. a Democrat challenger. Might also affect his decision.
