I say if nothing passes by March 5th, send it in. Doesn't look like Supreme Court will make a decision before summer anyway

Someone in another thread posted his concern regarding sending the renewals. I agree with his opinion.

Quote: if you applied under the current judicial "extension" that they can come back and cancel your status. Essentially a higher court could say that the lower court judge had no authority to impose a stay on the cancellation of the executive order. The higher court could then rule that permits/status granted due to the stay on the EO are invalid.

There's precedent for this - a few years ago USCIS was forced to recall some people's 3 year permits because they were granted improperly.

It's a pretty big gamble

Can you let me know if USCIS accepted your renewal request or approve your renewal request ?

Thanks very much

Most of us are expiring in Aug - Nov 2018 anyways. By the time they rule to end everything it will be near that time. I doubt the judges will overturn the ruling.

Yes, they recalled the three year permits, but all these people then received 2 year permits. There was also no money lost for these recipients because the cost for a 3 year permit was the same as a 2 year permit, so it's a slightly different situation. The only gamble is losing the filing fee, but I think it is unlikely they will force us to return permits granted during the extension.
