Not related to the article. Make a thread about it in the off topic section.

Exactly. That's why it's better to do Flake's route where temporary DACA is tied to temporary border security. It will then force Congress to revisit the issue, and if they don't, then it's likely they'll extend it again in the same DACA/Border Security package. Or then make a new status - same rights as a green card holder with no path to citizenship.

Trump should deport the author of the article. How about more agreement and more work, instead of 4 dead bills.

At this point Democrats shouls accept whatever narrow version gets the 60 votes. They failed at negotiation and got steam rolled by the Republicans.

Why are we so focused on a pathway to citizenship when we all just want to work and stay here? Eventually we will get that path but not with demonic Steve Miller and Trumpeto in the executive.
Speak for yourself.

I want a path to citizenship, or green card at the very least because I want to serve in the military.

Interesting article I came across on my fb which I had saved from FEB 2013. Just to give you an idea how we have got no where since that point ....

The draft plan says none of the 11 million illegal immigrants currently in the country would be granted permanent resident status and given a document known as a green card until the earlier of two dates: either eight years after the bill is enacted or 30 days after visas have been given to everyone who applied legally.

The plan includes a shortened path to citizenship for young illegal immigrants who came to the United States as children, said an administration official who agreed to discuss the details only on the condition of anonymity. In many cases, those young people could apply for green cards as soon as two years after the law was passed.

Ignore the author of this article. He/she is not a Dreamer and risks nothing if this doesn't pass.

This is a lifeline for all of us. Also, when the Supreme Court overturn the injunction or kills Daca, the Dreamers with final orders of removal will be targeted for deportation.

Anyone that says “stop negotiating” its either not a Dreamer or they’re already good as far as their documentation goes.

I don’t see why anyone would even suggest this considering the fact that Democrats have lost almost all leverage. This does not mean Democrats should cave on every suggestion the Republicans throw at them, but to say “stop negotiating” it’s quite absurd in my opinion and will bring no positive results whatsoever. It’s time
stop acting childish and have both sides come to a FAIR agreement.
