I think, that trip you're going to in D.C., is the same one i went to. for my AP class as well. so first of all congrats. i know it wasn't cheap, i worked really hard for mines. and you are def. going to enjoy it. you're going to meet so many ppl from different states, and in my case ppl from different countries.
second of all, I took the trip in 2003. right before our great nation waged war on IRAQ lol. I got through all airport personnel (ticketing/tsa) by using my school ID card. no problem at all. 2 of my friends who went on the trip, also used it. i guess when you are traveling with a school/group, they dont make a big deal about it. I was even able to get in the White House (the tour, they have checklists with names n match them wit id's) and U.s. Capitol/ senate building. (everytime you step foot in there. they check ID's either or run u thru the metal detector). so i guess they are more at ease when you are with groups. I would say bring whatever ID you have. A school ID would probably be best. since you are on a school trip. but be prepared just in case. -Once again. Domestic flights are much more different than International flights. I explained this on the last thread, and what TSA agents check for. well most of them anyways lol |
