I totally agree with this opinion! Assuming your wife is able to renew her visa, money should not stop you from staying here. I know, easier said than done, but I speak from experience. And yeah it is going to be tough, but it won't be impossible. Plus, as far as I'm concerned, a degree from the U.S. is going to serve her well wherever she ends up in the future.
And about the life after college, my brother, for instance, was offered a good paying job right out of college (no experience whatsoever) that also offered him sponsorship for a work visa. Luckily, he hasn't had the need to go down that route, as we are both still going strong with our DACA renewals.
Hopefully you find the answer you need in these comments (opinions).

I thought there would be more countries that had mandatory military service.

There's a lot, my country of origin requires it and it's not South Korea.

I second this -- OPT will be your wife's best option, and a company could sponsor her after. And yes you guys should stay and wait it out.

Where is you wife from? Maybe you guys can pick a different country? Honestly it’s a hard decision and you both need to decide where you see your family flourishing.

Your situation is very similar to mine. I also fell in love with an international student holding an F1... you are right, we can’t choose who we love. We’ve been engaged for 8 months, haven’t married because we wanted to see what would happen with DACA. Take it from personal experience, her ability to maintain an F1 requires a lot of hurdles, will be expensive, and her ability to work will be very limited. However, it’s not impossible and if she gets very lucky maybe she can transition to an H1b and eventually a green card.

My fiancée and I started dating while doing our undergrad. Once we graduate she did OPT for a year and then after transitioned back to student status while doing our MBA’s. She was able to apply for CPT employment and interned with the same company she did her OPT. The organization tried HB1 sponsorship for her in following order.

1st year MBA - didn’t get picked in lottery
2nd year MBA - didn’t get picked in lottery
OPT after MBA - picked in lottery, received OPT extension, Trump administration changed the rules for especialty occupation, received RFE, RFE evidence sent, H1B denied, organization hired more immigration lawyers and appealed, H1B denied again.

What is worse is that the organization has multiple people under the same h1b category and they’ve never been denied before!

Fast forward to now, she went back for an additional Masters degree to buy time, but our decision is moving out of the country. Luckily both our organizations allow us to work remotely and with mine I will open up my own branch. If you plan to leave, I’d suggest that you talk to your company and see if working remotely is an option. Trick is to turn this shitty situation in an opportunity!

Best of luck!

Man, fuck this BS. With your wife's education and work experience, other countries will fight to keep her.

You don't just suddenly apply and then appeal for an automatic 11 years EAD...

* You apply for asylum. Your case goes to Immigration Judge. You get denied.

* You appeal to Board of Immigration Appeals. You need to provide evidence of Immigration Judge's incorrect ruling based on precedents and regulations for BIA to hear the case. You get denied if BIA agrees to hear your case.

* You appeal to Circuit Court. You need to provide evidence of the BIA's incorrect ruling based on precedents and regulations for Circuit Court to hear the case. You get denied if the Circuit Court agrees to hear your case.

* You appeal to Supreme Court. You seriously think you will get to this point...?

The executive and federal court systems do not just hear your case on frivolous arguments, you need to provide clear and convincing case for them to hear your appeal. Otherwise your appeal will be rejected out of hand.
According to my gf's lawyer and my own lawyer, this type of cases dont ever reach the Supreme Court. Moreover, she's from Russia so odds are in her favor to win the asylum case, that is why I told OP that this depends on the country his wife is from, and he absolutely needs a good lawyer.
