I feel your pain bro. I went through the same thing. My grandma was quick to tell anyone that I was her favorite grandchild. Even to her other grand kids. I used to spend a lot of time with her. But as soon as I graduated and got a job I hardly ever went to go see her. She would call me from time to time and would invite me over for lunch at her place. I would make up a lame excuse because I was always busy with other shit, or I simply didn’t want to go all the way to were she lived. When I would visit her I would only be there for a small amount of time. Then one day out of nowhere she got really sick and ended up passing away. To this day I feel like a piece of shit because of that. So I try to spend time with the people I love as much as I can. I haven’t even had time to go to her grave in a long time. But I will soon. I have to make time at least for that.

I felt terrible when my grandpa passed, I felt I didn't spent enough time with him because I was always busy with school, work, and friends. I know whatever I say is not going to make much of a difference but hang in there. Like others have said we can focus on who's left and this is really important; we'll also be building very close relationships as life goes on and the least we can do is forgive ourselves and do things better the next time around
