I wouldn't be surprised if trump freaks out over right wing noise and tries to tack on asylum and immigration nonsense. Even though he just doing this since they think daca won't be taken up by the court. Try to look like the deal maker even though you're barely doing much.

I have a question if trump offers bridge act. Can’t they change the provision. Revamp the bill like include travel and such?

Democrats have to COME TO THE TABLE at least, simple as that. They can go from there and start negotiating but unless they come to the table, ain't nothing going to happen and nobody is going to be blaming Trump I can tell you that. They've clearly low balled us but it is something. The compromise has to be respected by coming to the table.

they can always add language to it but Republicans wont allow travel for illegals bcuz they are gung ho about national security and is seen as a loophole to AOS in the future for EWIs.

Trump prolly wont allow it either, if it was a Dem President, they can always reinstate AP.

If they are really concerned with national security, they should look into the gun laws and state of mental health of this country.

I mean, they can blame him but the public perception here is of trump standing his ground over border security, which is something people aren’t dramatically opposed to. Dems haven’t been doing enough to change their image of pelosi refusing everything, and im positive the progressives are bound to hijack any probable deal.

the offer was to save face cuz they are losing public opinion over the shutdown. why didnt they include and inform Dems on this offer? its only Republicans.

its a proposal thats gonna go nowhere. we already have temporary protections. Pres Trump gotta cave on a path to citizenship.

@mkraju

“Not much support among Dems for this Trump plan on two fronts: they want permanent protections for DACA recipients, not just temporary. Plus they want to reopen government first before immigration talks. Shutdown continues.”
